About Us:
"To know true love, one need only look into the eyes of a dog." - Unknown
Founded in 2014, Buckleberry Ferry is a business committed to providing owners with peace of mind, knowing that their pets not only receive their meals, medications, and walks, but that they are treated with love and affection. Whether your pet is a dog, cat, or something a little more exotic, we strive to ensure that your pet is cared for as if it were our very own. We operate in the Newark/Bear/Glasgow of Delaware.
About Our Owner/Operator:
From giving medication to working through behavioral issues, Stacie understands that some animals need a little extra patience and time to learn all about our strange people rules. Since leaving her job as a receptionist in 2014, she started dog walking for a little extra money. It wasn't long until she realized that working with animals is what made her the happiest, and she decided to devote her time to doing just that. She opened Buckleberry Ferry Pet Care in the spring of 2014.
About Our Employees:
CRYSTAL:
Crystal is our office assistant. Crystal takes care of some of our advertising and marketing needs, as well as working with the animals.
Crystal is a recent college graduate, with a degree in graphic design. She lives in Bear with her husband, and enjoys reading, painting, and getting too emotionally involved in her favorite television shows.
Ms. Evlyn, originally from Colorado, is a well traveled retiree who has been working with dogs for over fifty years! Currently, Ms. Evlyn also works with Canine Angels, a non profit organization that trains and prepares Therapy Dogs for their special needs owners.
Ms. Evlyn is most often found at the dog parks, helping to keep an eye on our charges, but also occasionally babysits as well.
Ms. Evlyn does not like having her picture taken.
Oswald J. Moopington III, or just Ozzy for short, is a 13 year old English Bulldog that came to live with Stacie 3 years ago, after his original owner was unable to care for him any longer. Ozzy is completely deaf due to chronic ear infections, but we have worked with him and he has learned to understand a simplified sign language! Ozzy's hobbies include competitive begging, sleeping, wearing hats, sleeping, playing with his friends, sleeping, eating, and sleeping.
Despite his advance age and girth, Ozzy enjoys a good romp outside and is always thrilled when dogs (especially lady dogs) come over to play!
