Frequently Asked Questions:
- What services do you offer? We offer a wide variety of services, and we are adding new things all the time. Even if you need something you don't see listed on our services menu, let us know and we might be able to help! We are very willing to work with our clients and their owners to best meet their needs.
- What are your rates? Rates can vary depending on the type of pet you have, the level of care they require, and how far our care providers have to travel to visit your pet. We work with all owners to find the very best method of caring for you pet at the most affordable price.
- What kind of animals do you care for? With the exception of large animals, such as horses and other large livestock, we can care for just about any kind of pet you might own. We provide care predominately for dogs and cats, but we have worked with ducks and geese, rabbits, snakes, tortoises, goats, hamsters and guinea pigs and even a chinchilla!
- What vaccinations should my pet have? For the safety of our care providers, other clients, and your pet, ALL cats and dogs MUST have valid Rabies and Distemper vaccinations. Dogs are also required to have a Parvo vaccination. You can request a copy of your immunization records from your vet. These records must be presented to BFPC before a care provider can visit your pet, or before your pet can visit us. You must also disclose any medical issues (allergies and sensitivities, on-going illnesses, medications) your pet has to your care provider prior to the start your pet's visit.
- I want a copy of my bill, a receipt, or a progress report. How can I get one? BFPC is a paperless company for the most part, but we would be happy to e-mail you a copy of any account information, including bills, receipts, progress reports and other information.
- What sort of training do you offer? BFPC employees are strong believers in reward based training. Pets are given praise and treats for learning commands and showing desired behavior rather than punished for exhibiting the wrong behavior.
However, we are not "dog trainers" and we do not teach "tricks". Pets in our care are worked with and encouraged to learn how to walk on a lead, how to settle down when asked, and how to play with their humans without jumping and biting.
Some animals learn these behaviors right away, while others are slower to do so. As such, we do not guarantee that any training we give is "fool proof". - What's "Buckleberry Ferry"? Are you taking my dog on a boat? Buckleberry Ferry is a location within Lord of the Rings. Stacie, BFPC's owner/operator is a very big fan of all things Tolkien.
