We are adding new services all the time in order to best serve our clients and their owners, and even if you need something that you don't see listed here, odds are we can find a way to help!
- Daily Walks -- Your pet may just need an extra walk or someone to hang out with while you're at work. One of our care providers would be delighted to come visit your pet for an hour a day and take them for a walk, play with them, feed them, or just hang out with them
- Cat Care -- We are not just dog people. We can certainly take care of your cat(s) while you're busy with work, on vacation, or just stuck running errands. Litter boxes, feeding and snuggling (if your cat is into that kind of thing) are no big thing for us!
- Socialization -- All dogs should be socialized starting at a young age, but unfortunately not all dogs are able have that experience. If your dog needs help learning how to behave with kids, other pets, or they just need to learn how to be a dog, that is something we can help with.
- Pet Taxi -- If you pet needs to go to the groomer, the vet, or to a play date with another friend, we'd be happy to give them a ride. Just think of us as a Doggy Uber. (we don't discriminate, though, we will give cats rides, too.)
- Dog Park Visits -- If your dog just needs to get outside and run, we know a few places they can go. Our preferred park is Levels Road Dog Park in Middletown -- you've probably seen us there -- but we also visit Iron Hill park on hot days because it's got a lot of shade. We like to get to know dogs before we agree to take them to the park, so usually a consultation visit is set up beforehand. This is for the safety of your pet, our care providers, and other dogs at the park. We have at least one care provider with the dogs at all times, but we like to have two or three, so it is important that you schedule park visits ahead of time.
- Small Dog and Cat Boarding -- If you have a cat, or your dog is on the small side (40 pounds or less), we are able to take care of them at The Ferry for few days while you're on vacation or out of town.
We don't currently have the on-site facilities for larger dogs, but we plan to expand in the future and add large dog boarding. In the meantime, we can visit your large dog in their home multiple times a day while you are away. - Training -- While we stress that we are not dog trainers and we do not guarantee results or teach tricks, we do work with our clients to teach them how to walk on a lead, not to jump on people, and how to behave with other dogs. As each dog is different, sometimes our methods work right away, and other times, it takes longer. We strongly recommend all dogs attend obedience courses with their owners in addition to our training method.
- Digital Services -- Leaving your pet with someone else can be nerve wracking. How do you know your pet is being looked after properly? How do you know your pet being looked after at all? It's understandable. To help alleviate some of that stress, BFPC does a couple of things to give owners a sense of what their pet's daily routine with us is like:
- 1. Time Sheets: All care providers check in and out using a google docs spread sheet that is updated in real time. When we arrive at your home, we sign in right away, and as we are leaving we sign out. That way you know how much time we spent with your pet. Owners are given access to this information and can check it each day.
- 2. "Pawgress" Reports: While we are with your pets, we make notes about what they are doing - if they ate, if they went to the bathroom, what their general demeanor is like. This is helpful with potty training, animals that take medication, and for owners who just like to know what their pet does when they aren't home. Owners are given access to this information and can check it each day.
- 3. Instagram and Twitter: Owners can check out our Instagram page or Twitter whenever they like and see pictures of their pets playing, napping, or just hanging out with their care providers.
- Portraits and Photography -- BFPC boasts some really great photographers -- Our owner Stacie seriously considered attending the Hallmark School of Photography and has won several awards for her photography. Our office assistant Crystal was a graphic design major and has a great eye for all things artistic -- and we LOVE taking pictures of your pets. We offer portrait and candid photo packages (digital or print) starting as low as $10.
